I'm buying Molly tomorrow when my money gets transferred into my account.
Its weird. I've never really wanted her when I was a kid. I was more of a Samantha/Kirsten girl. But I love her clothes-and from pictures I've seen she looks really good in "Today" clothes. The only problem is I'm not sure about taking down her braids or not.

Our Molly is the most unloved doll in our house. I simply can't bring myself to get rid of her, though, since she was my very first AG doll, and I bought her because she looks like my daughter. We've tried purchasing her a few new outfits and changing her clothes, and that has helped a lot. I agree, change her clothes, see what happens, but if you can't bond, let her live with the rest of the girls, but don't get rid of her.

I wouldnt take out her braids, but thats just me.. I remember my Kirsten that I had. I took down her braids then took them out and I could never get it to look the same afterwards.. then again I was a little kid and probably didnt know what I was doing lol

I know! Part of the fun is playing with their hair. I think she would look amazing in piggy tails-especially with the waves from her braids being undone. Maybe thats what I'll do, it will keep the part straight at least.

Ugh... I still dont know about Molly.... I did not get the same feeling when I got her in the mail and first took her out of the box as I did when I received Kirsten today... I know a part of it has to do with my childhood, etc.. but for some reason I am not feeling anything special about this Molly doll, even though she is a gorgeous one from the late 80's... I keep thinking in my mind " I should really sell her" but then again I keep thinking " I should keep her so I have the original trio" ... Anyone else here had to make a tough decision like this? What made you decide?
I really would like to get Kirsten some retired clothing and stuff I wouldnt otherwise be able to afford, since I honestly dont really care for many of Mollys outfits...
Sigh....

I think you should hold on to her for a little while longer. If she is a PM doll - especially a white bodied one - she will not be going down in value in the foreseeable future, so I don't think you'll be losing anything by keeping her around.
It took me a looong time to bond with Nellie, compared to what everyone else is saying. It took me almost a year to bond with her based on catalog pictures. Then when I got her home it took a good 1-1/2 months for her to really "click." This is probably because I was a one-doll girl for so long, and it was odd having a stranger in the house, even if she is Sam's sister! Lol. But now she's fitting in just fine. I'd say give Molly some more time. Try reading her books again, or changing her into an outfit you think'll look good on her.
